PRACTICE STAFF

Practice Manager

Our practice manager is responsible for the whole team and looks after the business and administration of the practice. Any suggestions, comments or views that you would like to make regarding any aspect of the surgery should be addressed to the practice manager.

Receptionists

Our receptionists are there to help you. They are our "front line" and have a very difficult job to do, with many telephone calls and enquiries to deal with. Your call will be dealt with as efficiently as possible. The receptionists are trained to help you and may need to ask you for medical details in order to do so. All the staff work under the direction of the doctors and it is best to discuss any difficulties you encounter with the practice manager.

Please be a patient patient!

Dispensers

Our dispensary team can help you with any query regarding your medication or obtaining a repeat prescription. Please remember that your medication can only be changed with the authority of your doctor.

Practice Nurses

Our nurses have wide experience in all aspects of nursing care, both general and specialised areas and will give advice on a wide range of health promotion topics. Their skills include:

  • child and adult immunisations

  • asthma, diabetes and blood pressure monitoring

  • cervical smears and other well woman issues

  • wound dressing and suture removal

  • giving advice on healthy living (diet, exercise, stopping smoking etc)

  • over 75 check

  • new patient health checks

District Nurses

Our district nursing team provide general nursing care in the home and are a source of help and advice to elderly patients, patients with long term illnesses and those that care for them. They will tend operation wounds and other injuries and administer routine injections, as well as helping with the supply of aids required by housebound patients.

Health Visitors

Our health visitors specialise in care of the newborn and the elderly. They are pleased to offer advice to expectant and postnatal mothers, and to families with pre-school age children. They can also help with infant care and feeding problems and general parenting issues. The health visitor will monitor the growth and development of our younger patients at the baby clinic and via the regular child health surveillance checks.

Counsellors

A counsellor is available at the surgery. Your doctor can refer you to this service if it is appropriate for you.
