HOW DO I...
CHANGE MY DETAILS ?

If you change your name, address or telephone number please notify us as soon as possible.

HOW DO I...
MAKE AN APPOINTMENT ?

Consultations are by appointment only. You can make an appointment by telephoning 01376 347100 or by calling in person at the surgery. Routine appointments may be made well in advance and you are requested to see the doctor with whom you are registered whenever possible. Please make a separate appointment for each person requiring a consultation. If you need an urgent appointment, please make this clear to the receptionist who will ensure that you are seen on the same day. This may not be with your own doctor.

Your doctor will try to keep to the appointment schedule, but please remember that illness can be unpredictable and some consultations may take longer than anticipated. On occasions the doctor may even have to leave the surgery and attend an emergency which can seriously disrupt the schedule.

If you need to speak to your doctor on the telephone, the receptionist can advise you of the most appropriate time to call. We hold a short surgery on a Saturday morning for emergencies and for commuters who are unable to attend for routine appointments during the week.

PLEASE REMEMBER TO CANCEL YOUR APPOINTMENT IF IT IS NO LONGER REQUIRED.

HOW DO I...
OBTAIN HOME VISITS ?

A home visit will only be provided in the case of a life threatening emergency, or where travelling is too difficult for the elderly or infirm. Please telephone your request by 10.30am.

The surgery has access for disabled patients.

HOW DO I...
OBTAIN TEST RESULTS ?

Pathology and x-ray results are available over the telephone between 2.00 and 3.30pm, when the receptionist will advise you or ask you to make an appointment if necessary.

HOW DO I...
OBTAIN REPEAT PRESCRIPTIONS ?

We have a computerised system for prescriptions and it would be helpful if you could use the printed copy for re-ordering. You should indicate the items required and either deliver, post or fax the slip to the dispensary to arrive before 12 noon. Please enclose a stamped addressed envelope if you would like the prescription posted back to you.

PLEASE ALLOW TWO COMPLETE WORKING DAYS FOR THE DISPENSARY TO PROCESS YOUR REQUEST.

Dispensing

We are able to dispense your medication from our own dispensary if you live more than one mile from the nearest chemist, in an area considered to be rural by North Essex Health Authority. The regulations on this are very strict and you must make your application at the time of registering or changing your address.
